Giving Something Back: Why IL Solutions is Supporting Lichfield City FC
With its base just minutes from Lichfield City FC, IL Solutions is proud to be supporting its local club for the 2026/27 season – on the pitch, around the ground and in the community.
For IL Solutions Managing Director Ian Lamb, the decision to support Lichfield City FC began with a love of football and a desire to give something back to the community his business calls home.
Based just 200 metres from the club, IL Solutions couldn't be more local. So, when Ian began looking for ways the business could support the community, a conversation with Lichfield City FC Vice-Chairman Liam Heath quickly developed into a new partnership.

A Club at the Heart of its Community
Lichfield City FC's roots stretch back to the 1970s, when the club began life as Beacon Rangers before later becoming Beacon Park. The club adopted the name Lichfield City in 2006, reflecting its strong links to the city and surrounding community.
Today, Lichfield City describes itself as a 3-star FA-accredited community football club, providing opportunities for around 500 male and female players of all ages each week.
Alongside its first team, the club provides boys' and girls' junior football, a women's team, a full-time education academy, and soccer schools. Its growing range of community programmes aims to make football more accessible to people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds.
For Ian, supporting a club with such strong roots in the local community made sense.
“I'm not looking to get business out of it. For me, it's about supporting a local team and putting something back into the community.”
Supporting the Team for the 2026/27 Season
After discussing the available sponsorship opportunities, Il Solutions agreed to a support package that will make the company a familiar sight around the club throughout the season.
IL Solutions is the club's 2026/27 away shirt partner, with the company name appearing on the players' white away shirts. The sponsorship also extends to the team's training kit and the tracksuits and clothing players wear as they arrive for matches.
In addition to the kit, a 10-metre IL Solutions board now has a prominent position alongside the pitch.
It's certainly good visibility for a local business, but for Ian, that's a bonus rather than the reason for getting involved.
“Of course, it's nice to see the IL Solutions name around the ground and on the kit, but that's not really why I've done it. I love football, the club is five minutes' walk from the business, and i wanted to support something genuinely local.”
Following the Team from the Sidelines
Ian is no stranger to grassroots football. His son plays for another local team, and football has long been something he enjoys both as a parent and a supporter.
Now, he has another set of results to keep an eye on. Although business won't allow him to make it to every game, Ian plans to watch Lichfield City matches whenever he can.
“I've been along to a couple of games already. The results haven't quite gone our way yet, but we'll get there! I'm looking forward to following the team and seeing how the season develops.”
And with the company's name now appearing on the shirts, training kit and alongside the pitch, there's no question who Ian and the team will be backing this season.
